..you can try a sealer like gloss medium or gloss varnish - found in art shops - but please no mod podge.. it stays sticky so pages tend to stick together, not a good thing for art journals I'd say ;-).. you're having fun, I can tell!

Great! Sounds like you're trying all sorts of things.. that's the way to go. Gesso over pastels, mmm I'd say yes, unless they are oil pastels. Also I'd give it a light sand and a good wipe down to get rid of the dust before applying the gesso. This said, I've never done it before, so you will have to try one and see what happens, ok? Let me know - should be interesting! (Can't wait to see what is brewing!!)

Hi Jenny, it has to be a folded A4 - this is essential for binding purposes afterwards as we sew into the 'ditch' to bind the book..
Hope that helps..

Hi Jenny and welcome to Artswappers! To get started is easy: read through the "Signatures - How to?" up at the top of this page and try your hand at making some signatures for the exchange.
I'll add your name to the little list of artists you've indicated that they want to be part of the 2012 exchange, ok?
Let us know how it's going... e^)
